ABOUT
Born from loss.
Built with love.
The Sunny Side Foundation began in honor of our daughter, Sunny Helene.
OUR STORY
How Sunny Side Began
In July 2023, we lost our daughter, Sunny Helene, to Trisomy 18 — a fatal chromosomal condition. Her heartbeat slipped away during delivery, and she was born still.
We learned of Sunny's diagnosis early in our pregnancy. Knowing did not soften the loss. Nothing could.
What carried us through the days that followed was love — quietly shown, generously given. Yellow ribbons appeared on the trees up and down our street. Meals arrived at our door. Gifts were brought for our other children. Our lawn was tended without us asking. And by sheer grace, we did not have to worry about how we would lay our daughter to rest.
That support gave us something we desperately needed: room to grieve. Time to feel what we needed to feel, in the way we needed to feel it.
The Sunny Side Foundation was born from that love, and named for our daughter. We exist to walk alongside other families during pregnancy and through the first six months of a baby's life — offering the same kind of steady, practical, heartfelt support that helped us begin to find our way back to peace.

OUR MISSION
To be a beacon for families walking the same road.
We walk alongside families during pregnancy and through the first six months of a baby's life — with care packages, practical help, and a community that understands. Everything we do is funded by donations. There's no cost to families, ever.
